I have been lucky enough to work in education, as a teacher and scholar, learning from and with my colleagues and students, for over 40 years, at all levels in a variety of settings. At the University of Georgia now, I teach pre-service and in-service teachers, librarians and other educators, and do research on innovative teaching methods (with and without technology), teacher professional development, and ways to motivate and help struggling students, especially in reading and writing.
